Hoda Kotb parted ways with partner Joel Schiffman after 8 years together in 2022. The pair first met while she was signing autographs at an event. After their initial connection and a push from the executive producer of the ‘TODAY’ Show, they eventually went on their first date.

Hoda was super private about the relationship at first, and didn’t reveal Joel’s identity to her fans for quite some time. However, the two soon established a solid foundation and life together and even adopted two daughters, Haley and Hope, in 2017 and 2019. After they were together for six years, Joel proposed to Hoda during a romantic beach vacation in Nov. 2019.

Hoda announced her split from her fiancé during the Today show in January 2022, stating that they were “better as friends and parents than we are as an engaged couple.” Despite this, the couple co-parents their two daughters. In September 2024, Hoda shared that she would be leaving the Today show, expressing that now at 60 years old, “A new decade of my life lies ahead, and now, my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie.” Her last day on air for the Today show ended up being on January 10, 2025.
