Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae Young met when they were both boating in California in July 2019. The reality stars went public with their relationship the following month, and did not hide their love for one another in the months that followed. Tarek proposed to Heather on the pair’s one year anniversary of meeting. She happily accepted, and they quickly got into wedding planning mode.

Unfortunately, Heather found the process very stressful and overwhelming. Although the two were set to wed in summer 2021, they decided to postpone the date while they made sure that everything they were planning was exactly what they wanted.
