                                                                                                          Hailey Bieber has brought sophisticated and timeless looks to New York City’s Met Gala since making her debut in 2015. However, not all of her Met Gala attention has been due to her fashion. In 2018, she and pop singer Shawn Mendes sparked dating rumors when they attended together, but those rumors were squashed when Hailey got together with and married Justin Bieber shortly after. Unfortunately, the model has gotten a large amount of medical attention thanks to the Met Gala as well. That’s right – Hailey broke her ankle not once but twice following the Met Gala in 2015 and 2016. She opened up about the experiences on a 2021 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show and said she believes ’24 hours within the Met Gala are cursed’ for her. At least she didn’t have to attend the events with a broken foot! And despite her bad luck, she hasn’t stopped attending the star-studded fundraiser.                                                                                                           Hailey Bieber attended the 2021 Met Gala on September 16 in a simple fitted black Saint Laurent dress with a plunging embellished neckline to celebrate the ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’ theme. She paired the dress with a beautifulTiffany & Co. necklace and a pair of plain black sunglasses. Keeping it simple with her hair as well, she let her dirty blonde locks frame her face in subtle waves.

                                                                                                          Standing beside Hailey Bieber at the 2021 Met Gala was husband Justin Bieber. The couple showed that less is sometimes more, even at an event that is known for its over-the-top fashion. Justin wore a simple black tuxedo with flared legs designed by La Maison Drew, which falls under his Drew House label. While the couple’s outfits remained chic and effortless, their fans did stir up some drama after Justin was photographed posing with his hand over his wife’s stomach. This sparked pregnancy rumors, which turned out to be just rumors.

                                                                                                          Hailey Bieber looked chic and fabulous in a light pink fitted gown designed by Alexander Wang at the May 6, 2019 Met Gala. The theme of 2019’s fundraising event was ‘Camp: Notes of Fashion.’ The dress covered everything up front but had an open back with a tiny g-string piece that held the dress up above her backside. Hailey wore her hair in a slick high ponytail tied with a thick black bow and finished her look with glistening diamond Bvlgari earrings.

                                                                                                          Shawn Mendes and Hailey Baldwin attended the May 7, 2018 Met Gala together to celebrate its ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ theme. Shawn donned a maroon Tommy Hilfiger suit with his hair slicked back. The couple’s outing was thought to be their debut as a couple, but they both asserted they were just friends at the time. However, Shawn later described their relationship as a ‘zone of limbo’ that he did not wish to put a label on in a November 2018 interview with Rolling Stone.                                                                                                           Hailey Bieber wore a dreamy chiffon Tommy Hilfiger gown at the 2019 Met Gala that had draped off-the-shoulder sleeves and a high slit that allowed her toned left leg to peek through. The bottom of the dress flowed behind her into a several-foot-long train. The light pastel blue dress was paired with the model’s short, light pink hair and a flower crown. She finished her ethereal look with silver lace-up heels and multiple rings.

                                                                                                          Supporting the ‘Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between’ theme at the May 1, 2017 Met Gala, Hailey Bieber dressed in a Carolina Herrera two-piece ensemble. Her fun yet elegant look was completed with an off-white bustier crop top and a tiered tulle skirt in varying shades of cream. She had her hair pulled back in a bun and wore a Swarovski-studded Gigi Burris veil that reached her eyes. A layered sparkling diamond choker necklace completed her tiered look.  Speaking to Vogue at the time, Hailey said she was excited to pull off the look because it was something different. ‘I had never done a puffy gown before, so I knew I wanted to do that! And I always love old-school photos of actresses like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly, so I like to channel that vibe,’  she gushed.

                                                                                                          Hailey Bieber opted for a short, long-sleeved dress for The May 4, 2015 Met Gala theme of ‘China: Through the Looking Glass.’ The light blue Topshop dress was covered in what appears to be 3-D and 2-D East Asian floral and bird embellishments. She ditched her natural blonde locks for a dark brunette hue, which she tied back in a low ponytail. She finished her look with silver pumps and a white clutch.
