Elon Musk Then & Now: Photos — Elon Musk has had quite a journey from his days as a young techie to a full-fledged billionaire. Elon, who regularly ranks as the Richest Man In The World, depending on the market of the day, was born June 28, 1971 in Pretoria, South Africa. He moved to Canada at age 17 to avoid being conscripted. After going college at University Of Pennsylvania, he moved to California to go Stanford but instead dove straight into the tech industry and founded a company with his brother.

In 1999 he helped found the platform which would become PayPal. His aerospace manufacturer and transport service SpaceX was founded in 2002 and in 2004 he joined Tesla and was made CEO by 2008. In Apr. 2022 he made another monumental business move when he purchased Twitter for $44billion.

Elon’s personal life has long been in the spotlight. Elon is a father of 7, from three relationships. He was married to first wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson from 2000 to 2008. He wed and divorced actress Talulah Riley twice, first from 2010 to 2012, then again from 2013 to 2016. Elon has two children with singer Grimes.
