At the time she got together with David, Jenelle had two sons from previous relationships: Jace, who she shares with her estranged high school boyfriend, Andrew, and Kaiser, who she shares with her ex, Nathan Griffith. David also had one daughter, Maryssa, from a previous relationship. Jenelle and David have been through some extremely controversial situations throughout their relationship. In 2018, he was fired from ‘Teen Mom 2’ after posting homophobic comments on social media.
