Welcome to the Daniel Jones era. In September 2019, the North Carolina native was named the starting quarterback of the New York Giants. The Big Blue Wrecking Crew started the 2019-20 season going 0-2, with starter Eli Manning underperforming yet again. Though Manning took the Giants to two Super Bowls, the team had made the playoffs only once after their 2012 championship victory.  The winless start gave the Giants no choice, and Daniel Jones – a rookie the team drafted with the overall No. 6 Draft Pick just a few months earlier – was named the starter.

Daniel played for three seasons at Duke University, and while he did well, his numbers didn’t light up the board, Plus, the Giants picking Daniel over others drew criticism and mockery from fans and analysts alike, he’s starting as an underdog. However, when has the New York Giants never been underdogs? Daniel Jones may be more perfect for the Big Blue Wrecking Crew than most people think.
