Christopher Plummer, who starred in The Sound of Music, Beginners, All the Money in the World and The Last Station, sadly passed away on February 5, 2021 at the age of 91. His wife of more than 50 years, Elaine Taylor, was by his side. Christopher spent almost seven decades on the stage and screen, appearing in more than 100 films. His most famous role was as Captain George Von Trapp in the 1965 classic The Sound of Music, in which he starred opposite Julie Andrews.
Born on December 13, 1929, in Toronto, Christopher grew up in Montreal, before he relocated to New York where he began appearing in theatre productions. He went on to earn acclaim on both Broadway and London’s West End, winning two Best Actor Tony Awards, for the musical Cyrano and the play Barrymore.
The sad news of his passing was confirmed by Lou Pitt, Christopher’s friend and manager of 46 years.
