So few men have accomplished as much as Chris Jericho has. The man born Chris Irvine – son of professional ice hockey player Ted Irvine – has become one of the biggest names in professional wrestling. From training at the Hart Brothers School of Wrestling — where her met his lifelong friend and future tag-team partner Lance Storm – to thrilling fans and capturing gold in promotions like Smokey Mountain Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling, Chris broke through when he joined World Championship Wrestling in 1996. As a hero, “Lionheart” Chris Jericho wowed fans with his agility, but when he turned villainous, he truly shone through. His feud with Dean Malenko resulted in one of the biggest reactions in the company history. Despite this popularity and success, Chris was unsatisfied with his place in the company. He joined the WWE in 1999 and became a living icon, feuding with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, Kurt Angle, and Triple H. He would leave the company in 2005, but return to the WWE sporadically over the following decade. In 2017, he left the WWE to wrestle in New Japan Pro Wrestling and, as of 2019, All Elite Wrestling.
On top of this, Chris is a successful author, podcast host, actor, and rock star. Literally, his band, Fozzy, may have started off as a parody of “Ozzy Osbourne,” but it has since become a serious and respected metal group.
