Chris began his TV career as a guest on such cable news channels as CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News and CNN, giving his commentary on political and social issues. He went on to become the co-host of ABC’s news magazine show ’20/20′ and was the news anchor for the network’s morning show ‘Good Morning America’ from 2006-2009. He moved to CNN in 2013, initially anchoring their morning show ‘New Day’ before joining the evening lineup with ‘Cuomo Prime Time,’ focusing primarily on major political news of the day. In late March 2020, Chris revealed he tested positive for COVID-19. He later recovered from the virus.
