Stars Arrested In 2019 — Whether they’re the biggest movie star in all of Hollywood, the biggest name within the UFC ring, or one of the hottest rappers in the game today, one thing is certain: they are not above the law. In 2019, some major stars wound up getting booked for a wide range of crimes. From alleged sexual assault to DUI to accusations of Ivy School bribery, check out the stars that got busted this year.

One of the biggest crime scandals this year was the Operation Varsity Blues, which consisted of wealthy parents allegedly bribing college authorities to get their children into the school. Actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman were included among those charged for their involvement. Another big arrest in 2019 was Jussie Smollett, who suffered from a huge public back-and-forth about the details of the hate crime against him. Jared Padalecki Arrested On Oct. 27

Jared Padalecki Arrested On Oct. 27 — Jared Padalecki was arrested for one count of public intoxication and two counts of assault reports in Austin, Texas on Oct. 27. The actor reportedly struck the general manager and a bartender in the face at Stereotype nightclub, where he’s a regular patron.

Jane Fonda was arrested on Oct. 11, 2019 for protesting climate change on the nation’s Capitol. The 81-year-old actress is a longtime political activist.

Valerie Mason — Valerie Mason was arrested on June 21, 2019 for possession of a controlled substance in Louisiana. The former Playboy Playmate was riding in the passenger seat of a car that allegedly contained meth when she was arrested. She was released on $3,000 bond.

Machelle Hobson — Machelle Hobson was charged with abusing children on her YouTube channel, Fantastic Adventures. The channel has since been taken down.

Mama June — Mama June was arrested on drug charges in Tuskegee on March 19, 2019. Her boyfriend, Geno Doak, was as well.

Felicity Huffman

Felicity Huffman — In a scandal taken more out of the ‘Real Housewives’ world than ‘Desperate Housewives,’ Felicity Huffman was one of nearly 50 people charged on March 12 in the largest college admissions scandal ever prosecuted by the U.S. Justice Department. Prosecutors claim coaches and private admissions counselors received millions of dollars for helping students get admitted as athletes to top schools, regardless of their sports or academic qualifications.

Felicity and husband William H. Macy (who wasn’t referenced by name) allegedly paid $15k to have someone take the SAT in place of their older daughter, which ultimately resulted in a 1420 SAT score. Felicity was charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud.

Lori Laughlin

Lori Laughlin — Lori Laughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were also charged in the academic bribery sting. The ‘Fuller House’ star and husband allegedly plaid $500,00 so that their two daughters would be designated as recruits for the University of Southern California’s crew team. Neither participated in the sport. Athletic recruits have a better chance of being admitted to a school.

Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor — Conor McGregor was arrested on March 11 in Florida after allegedly smashing a man’s phone outside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel. As Conor was exiting, a man attempted to take his picture. The UFC champ allegedly smacked the phone to the ground before stomping on it, repeatedly. He allegedly picked up the damaged phone before walking away. He was charged with one count of strong-arm robber and one count of criminal mischief valued at $1,000 or more.

R. Kelly

R. Kelly — R. Kelly was in and out of a Chicago jail in early 2019, after he was charged with ten counts of felony sexual abuse involving four women, three of which were reportedly underage. He turned himself in on Feb. 22, and though he struggled to come up with the $100k of the $1 million bond issued, he was bailed out on Feb. 25. He was arrested again on March 6 over $161,000 of unpaid child support payments. He was released on March 9 after an anonymous benefactor paid the bill.

Jussie Smollett

Jussie Smollett — Jussie Smollett was charged on Feb. 21 with a Class 4 Felony Disorderly Conduct in Falsifying Police report, all because he allegedly staged a hate crime against himself in January 2019. On March 7, a grand jury indicted him on a total of 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct for making a false report – eight for the comments he made to a police officer and eight for what he told a detective. His lawyer called this indictment ‘prosecutorial overkill.’

21 Savage

21 Savage — 21 Savage was arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Feb. 3 as part of a targeted operation in the Atlanta area. ICE claimed that 21 Savage was a British citizen who overstayed his Visa. 21 Savage – born She’yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph – was released from an ICE detention center more than week later. The rapper claims he never hid his status and attempted to apply to a U-visa in 2017.

Bow Wow

Bow Wow — Bow Wow was arrested and charged with misdemeanor batter on Feb. 2. Atlanta police alleged that the rapper, real name Shad Moss, was involved in a fight with a woman in Midtown Atlanta. Bow Wow denied he assaulted the woman, claiming that she was the one who allegedly assaulted him.

Ryan Edwards

Ryan Edwards — ‘Teen Mom OG’ star Ryan Edwards was arrested, again, on Jan. 23 on charges of theft of services after he allegedly walked out of a bar without paying his $36 bill. The Hamilton County, Tennessee authorities also charged him with possession of a controlled substance, which reportedly dealt with a previous heroin possession charge in Red Bank, TN, and he was held on outstanding warrant for the drug charge.

Presley Gerber

Presley Gerber — Presley Gerber, the 19-year-old son of Cindy Crawford, was charged with one count of DUI and another for driving with a blood alcohol content of .08, in California on March 7. The two misdemeanors could result in a 6 month sentence and a $1,000 fine.

Miles Richie

Miles Richie — Miles Richie, the son of music icon Lionel Richie, was arrested on Jan. 19 over allegedly threatening to detonate a bomb in London’s Heathrow Airport. He was reportedly irate he couldn’t get on a flight and allegedly claimed to have a bomb in his band, one he would detonate if he weren’t let onto the plane. Police reportedly detains him and issued a “caution,” which in England means that he was neither booked nor charged with a crime (but the mark still goes on his record.)
