Bruce Springsteen is a famous American singer and songwriter, who is known for being the lead singer in the E Street Band. He has recorded albums as a solo artist, as well as with the E Street Band. Bruce became interested in music while growing up in New Jersey and listening to artists like Frank Sinatra and the Beatles. He brought his first guitar in 1964, when he was just 15 years old. He played in various bands throughout the late 60s and early 70s, but after he was signed to Columbia Records in 1972, he had a bit of trouble finding mainstream success right away. He finally had his breakthrough with the E Street Band in 1975, leading to an epic career that spanned the next several decades. Even into his 60s, Bruce has been making solo music and songs with the E Street Band, while continuing to tour. Here, he performs with the E Street Band at a show in Philadelphia in Febuary 2016.
