‘Having kids makes your life better, plain and simple,’ Brendan Fraser said in 2008, and it’s a statement he’s stuck by since. The man behind such iconic 90s films as ‘The Mummy,’ ‘Encino Man,’ ‘Airheads,’ and ‘George of the Jungle’ has been a happy father since the birth of his first son, Griffin, in 2002. Born to Brendan and his then-wife, Afton Smith, Griffin was soon blessed with two brothers: Holden (b. 2004) and Leland (b. 2006). Though Brendan and Afton’s marriage didn’t last, with them divorcing in 2008, the love of their sons endured well in the decades afterward.
That love was on hand when Leland and Holden accompanied their father to numerous screenings for his movie, ‘The Whale,’ in 2022. With Oscar-buzz around Brendan’s performance, the world was once again reacquainted with the talent that caught their eyes in the 90s. So, here’s a look at Brendan’s family.
