The American singer/songwriter was born Courtney Shanade Salter, but she started going by the stage name Ari Lennox when she released her first EP Pho on October 21, 2016.
She started gaining major popularity when she dropped her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby on May 7, 2019. The title track on this album appeared on the Creed II soundtrack and the music video for it surpassed 3 million views via YouTube within the first week.
