Anna Paquin smiles brightly as she arrives for the The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Breakfast Gala, in Los Angeles 2019. Of course, there’s nothing for Anna not to smile about — she’s one of the most sought after actresses in Hollywood and stands to continue to do so for years to come.
Anna had quite the jump start to her career when she won an Oscar at the age of 11 for her role in Jane Campion’s “The Piano” opposite Holly Hunter. However, most folks know Anna for her roles much later in life, namely the parts she played in two huge fan favorite franchises. First, 2000, at the age of 16, she helped kick off the X-Men films alongside Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart playing Rogue, a role she would reprise in 3 other films.
Then, she played the lead in HBO’s dark, sexy thriller True Blood. As Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress who meets and falls in love with a mysterious vampire — and then some. Fans know that that vampire was played by Stephen Moyer, who went on to be Mr. Anna Paquin, as the two married in 2010. Yay for love!
