Angelina Jolie, born June 4, 1975, in Los Angeles, CA, is an American actress, filmmaker, and humanitarian. A native of Hollywood, she made her screen debut as a child alongside her father, Jon Voight, in ‘Lookin’ to Get Out’ (1982). Angelina has earned numerous accolades for her work, nabbing an Academy Award and Golden Globe for her role in Girl, Interrupted (1999). She also has two Globes from her roles in ‘Gia’ (1999) and ‘George Wallace’ (1998).
In addition to her Hollywood career, Angelina is well known for her humanitarian efforts. She promotes various causes, including education and women’s rights, and most notably, her advocacy on behalf of refugees as a Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Angelina began dating Brad Pitt in 2005 after sparks flew on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Together, they share six kids — three biological and three whom they adopted internationally. They married in August 2014 and split in 2016 amid controversy. Parts of the contentious divorce continue to this day.
