Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant — There have been far too many sad celebrity deaths in the year of 2020. Hollywood has been rocked by a number of tragic deaths, beginning at the very start of the year.

The world was devastated on Sunday, January 26th, when the legendary NBA star, Kobe Bryant, was killed in a helicopter crash in California. The former Laker was traveling with his daughter Gianna, 13, and seven others when their helicopter crashed into the canyons of Calabasas. There were no survivors. Kobe left behind his wife Vanessa, his three other daughters, and legacy that won’t soon be forgotten.

Ty Jordan

Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman — ‘Black Panther’ star Chadwick Boseman died after a private, four-year long battle with colon cancer in Aug. 2020. His wife and family were by his side when he passed away. Chadwick was first diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and filmed several movies amidst his surgeries and chemotherapy treatments.

Naya Rivera

Naya Rivera — Naya Rivera was pronounced dead by officials on July 13 after her body was discovered in Lake Piru in Southern California. She disappeared on the lake five days earlier while boating with her four-year-old son, Josey. The two went out for a swim and after Naya helped her son get back on the boat, she did not have enough energy to do so herself, officials speculated. She was just 33 years old at the time of her death.

Kelly Preston

Kelly Preston — Kelly Preston sadly died from breast cancer on July 12, 2020. She had been privately battling the disease for two years at the time of her death, and is survived by her husband, John Travolta, and their two kids, Ella and Benjamin.

Benjamin Keough — Benjamin Presley Keough, the son of Lisa Marie Presley and grandson of Elvis Presley, died in Calabasas on Sunday, July 12. ‘Lisa is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11 year old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life,’ her rep said in a statement.

Rapper Huey

Rapper Huey — Huey (born Lawrence Frank Jr.) was shot and killed on June 26, 2020 at a home in Kinloch, Missouri. Best known for his 2007 hit, ‘Pop, Drop & Lock It,’ the rapper continued to make music after this brief burst of fame. He was 32 when he died.

Fred Willard — Fred Willard died at the age of 86 on May 15. He was known for his work in the Christopher Guest films as well as his guest starring roles in ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’.

Melissa shared her son Beckett, who is the biological child of David Crosby, with ex Julie Cypher. The couple are also parents to Beckett’s sister Bailey.

Ashley ‘Ms. Minnie’ Ross — ‘Little Women Atlanta’ star, Ashley Ross, otherwise known as Ms. Minnie, died at the age of 34 on April 27. Her death was caused by injuries sustained after a hit-and-run car crash, according to her publicist.

Chynna Rogers — Rapper and model Chynna Rogers has died at just 25-years-old. ‘Chynna was deeply loved and will be sorely missed,’ her family released in a statement on Wednesday, April 8. The rising star was a fixture at New York Fashion Week and had gained a following in the indie music scene. After being encouraged to rap by her mentor, the late A$AP Yams, she went on to release two EPs and several singles, including ‘Glen Coco’ and ‘Selfie.’

Maeve Kennedy McKean — Maeve Kennedy McKean, Robert F. Kennedy‘s granddaughter, and her 8-year-old son Gideon have ‘passed away’. Her husband David confirmed the news after the pair were reported missing following a canoeing accident in Chesapeake Bay on April 2, and an intensive search began shortly after.

John Callahan — John Callahan passed away after suffering a massive stroke on Saturday, Mar. 28 at just 66 years old. ‘We’re devastated to share that John Callahan passed away earlier today. Sending our deepest condolences to Eva La Rue and all his loved ones,’ the Daytime Emmy Awards Twitter account shared later that day. The actor, who is seen here attending a Breast Cancer Research benefit in 2002, was best known for his role as Edmund Grey on ABC’s ‘All My Children.’ He went on to marry his on-screen love interest Eva LaRue in 1996, and the pair welcomed daughter Kaya in Dec. 2001 before divorcing in 2005.
