D’Corey “D.J.” Johnson made a splash in the America’s Got Talent season 18 premiere, and now he’s back for the qualifiers. His stunning audition performance went viral and has nabbed over 3 million views on YouTube.

D’Corey started off with a performance of Journey’s “Open Arms.” Simon Cowell then asked D’Corey to sing the song a capella. The 11-year-old totally nailed it, and Simon gave him a standing ovation! D’Corey told the judges that his dream is to be on Broadway and in movies. He’s well on his way after making a splash on AGT.
D’Corey lives in Louisville, Kentucky. He’s still in elementary school at James H. Bates Elementary School. When he was a third grader, his performance of the national anthem on the morning announcements went viral on social media.
D’Corey penned the tribute song “Breonna Taylor” in honor of the late Louisville native. The song was released in 2022. Breonna was tragically shot by police in 2020 during a botched police raid. She was only 26 years old.
After his viral morning announcements moment, D’Corey has been staying booked and busy. He performed the national anthem at the Tennessee Titans game in 2022 and has been a part of Dionne Warwick’s “HITS The Musical” tour.
D’Corey started singing when he was about 3 years old. In just 11 years, D’Corey already has some movie credits to his name. He was a featured vocalist in Sing 2 and The Loud House Movie!
