Stars Who Voted In 2022: Meghan Markle & Hailey Bieber Show Off Their Voting Stickers On Election Day

It’s Nov. 8th and the 2022 midterm elections are here. People across the U.S. are heading to the polls to vote with the stakes bigger than ever. Not only does control of congress hang in the balance, but issues like abortion rights and voting access are directly on the ballot in some states.

Hoping to tip the scales, celebrities of all sorts have been using their big voices to get out the vote. The civically-minded celebs represent both ends of the political spectrum, with everyone from Chelsea Handler to Mario Lopez giving election day a shout-out online.

Kerry Washington

It was hard not to get hyped up about voting with Kerry Washington. The Scandal star posted a high-energy Instagram Reel where she shook her stuff against a drop box to the tune of “Whoomp (There It Is.)” Her hair was in a curly ponytail and she rocked a red and white “Vote” tee. In her caption, Kerry reminded followers that voting could be fun, writing, “Polls, Party of 1.”

President Joe Biden took his granddaughter Natalie, 18, to the polls for early voting in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday, Oct. 29. It was a big occasion for Natalie, who marked her first time voting. “Hey I’m Natalie Biden and I just turned 18 and I am going to vote for the first time with my Pop,” she shared in a video on social media. The POTUS was just as thrilled, sharing, “I am so excited for her. This is the first time. The first vote. God love her.”

On Election Day, the President tweeted a reminder to citizens. It said, “Make your voice heard today. Vote.”

Hailey Bieber

Hailey Bieber shared a message along with her Rhode skincare line. She stressed the importance of “women’s issues” this cycle, explaining how her company was committed “to investing in and supporting women and helping them direct their own futures.” Hailey and Rhode’s message continued, “It is more important than ever that women have their voices heard and VOTE!” The post also included practical voting information about what to expect at your polling place and rules in place to protect your vote.

Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle shared a voting photo via her and Prince Harry’s Archewell Foundation. She looked like an All-American girl in her photo, sporting jeans, a blue jacket, and a baseball cap along with an oatmeal-colored sweater with her voting sticker on it.

Rosario Dawson

Rosario Dawson weighed in on the L.A. mayor’s race, telling followers, “I voted for [Karen Bass] & I liked it!” In the accompanying photo, she rocked short hair and a tee shirt, with her voter sticker over her mouth. After offering some voter info, she told people, “Let your vote ring louder than your silence!”

Cyndi Lauper

Cyndi Lauper urged people to vote with a video and a tweet. “I just voted! I hope you did too,” the “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” singer wrote, reminding people that, “The polls are open late in most places.” In her video, she told fans, “Let your voice be heard.”

Lizzo

Lizzo retweeted one an October message about elections, reminding fans, “TODAYS THE DAY #VOTE.” The “Truth Hurts” singer original message was full of urgency. It rad, in all caps, “Please don’t get comfortable w the status quo. Please don’t get distracted by current events.” Lizzo went on, “The midterm elections are here. Vote vote vote vote vote. The Supreme Court depends on it. Reproductive health depends on it. Veterans rights depend on it. LGBTQIA+ rights depend on it.”

Padma Lakshmi

Padma Lakshmi offered followers a voting checklist. She reminded New Yorkers that polls were open until 9 and urged people to remind 3 friends to vote. Along with her tweet, the Top Chef judge shared a stylish photo of her outside of her local polling place.

Mark Ruffalo, Marisa Tomei & More

Mark Ruffalo teamed up with Marisa Tomei, Julianne Moore, and John Leguizamo to share a “badass” video with New Yorkers. “Happy fall, New Yorkers,” Marisa said in the video. “It’s that time for sweaters, empire apples, and voting!”

Maria Shriver

Newscaster Maria Shriver stumped for truth in her non-partisan message. The Kennedy cousin, tweeted, “As we listen to news outlets saying they will tell us everything we need to know today, what we need to know above all is this: our vote matters. No one’s vote matters more than yours.”

Halle Berry

Halle Berry spoke up for reproductive justice on Twitter. She urged people to defend the right to abortion by voting Yes on California’s Prop 1 and to support arts funding via Prop 28.

Ivanka Trump

Ivanka Trump was short and sweet with her 2022 voting message, posted on Twitter on Monday, Nov. 7. She flashed a peace sign while holding up her, “I Voted” sticker at her local polling place. Looking laid back, she wore jeans and a sweater vest covered with hearts and yin-yangs.

Mario Lopez

Mario Lopez pointed to economic concerns in his Election Day tweet. The Saved By The Bell star told followers, “Before you vote: Go grocery shopping, gas up your car, pay your bills, look at your 401k. Then vote.”

Michelle & Barack Obama

President Barack Obama went with wife Michelle to vote early back in October. They proudly showed off their stickers while offering information about how to register.

On Election Day, Obama tweeted a clip from an impassioned speech about why “midterm elections matter.” He told readers, “Don’t let anyone convince you that your vote won’t make a difference. Show up at the polls today and vote for Democrats up and down the ballot.”

Katy Perry

Katy Perry tweeted out a reminder to her fans in the US. “Hey, you! American! Yes, you!” the “Firework” songstress posted. “This is your 1000th reminder to stop the scroll and go vote today.” She finished with an American flag emoji and an “ILY!” Earlier in the day, the star caused a stir by revealing her vote for former Republican Rick Caruso for LA Mayor.

Stephen King

Stephen King made his side clear in a Nov. 8 tweet. “I don’t care what you do with the blue check as long as you VOTE blue,” the horror novelist wrote. He recently got into a spat with Elon Musk’s plans for the new Twitter Blue verification program. He was among the many celebs who have promised to leave the platform.

Chelsea Handler

Chelsea Handler shared some useful information with followers, posting an infographic reminding people of their rights as voters. “Today is the day to exercise your right to vote,” the liberal comedian tweeted. “Make your voice heard.”

Julianne Moore

Julianne Moore shared a fresh-faced Instagram selfie ahead of Election Day. The actress smiled in an Instagram shot where she wore a white polo and a voting sticker. Her caption said, “Make your voice heard. Please #vote – it matters.”

Seth MacFarlane

Seth MacFarlane made a point about low voter participation by sharing a comic by political cartoonist Nick Anderson. The illustration showed a small group of people in “I voted” shirts outnumbered by a crowd of people all saying, “We didn’t vote because it won’t make a difference!” “Whoever made this gets it,” Seth tweeted.

Beto O’Rourke

Beto O’Rourke tweeted a photo from a Dallas polling place on Nov. 8. “At the polls in Dallas as we get out the vote across North Texas!” the Texas candidate for Governor wrote along with a photo of him holding hands with a veteran holding a “Beto” sign.

Jimmy Kimmel

Jimmy Kimmel seemed like he was fed up in his Election Day message. “After all this nonsense, VOTE! And drag your friends & family with you,” he tweeted. He also offered information about how to confirm your polling place.

Abbi Jacobson

Abbi Jacobson wrote a long message about the importance of voting on her Instagram. The Broad City star shared a photo with her fiance Jodi Balfour and told followers how she thinks about “how many people didn’t get the opportunity to make their voices heard in our democracy” and how “the right to vote was fought for” and “shouldn’t be taken lightly.”

Kumail Nanjiani & Emily Gordon

“We did it! Did you?” Emily V. Gordon wrote while sharing an Instagram selfie with hubby Kumail Nanjiani. Both were proudly sporting their California “I Voted” stickers. He shared the same photo and told followers, “We voted. Go vote!

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey took to Twitter on Nov 8 to make a statement for her 21.8 million followers, as well. “Today is the last day to vote!” the “Butterfly” singer wrote. “Your rights are on the ballot.” Mariah added art of a woman holding a sign reading, “who you elect makes decisions about: voting rights, reproductive rights, community safety.”

Nick Jonas

Nick Jonas took to Instagram in the late afternoon of November 8 to share a simple selfie with his “I Voted” sticker. He captioned the pic with a simple “#vote.” Nick obviously took the message seriously, as he looked intently at the camera to convey the gravity of the midterm elections.

Khloe Kardashian

Good American co-founder and mom of two Khloe Kardashian took time out of her busy life after the CFDA Fashion Awards to vote on Tuesday. She took to Instagram stories that evening to share a pic of her long, pink nails holding an “I voted sticker.” She doubled up the message for her 279 million followers with an animated banner that said the same.
