Pop music and classic rock fans can rejoice! The Rolling Stones have released their newest single featuring Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder as part of their upcoming album, Hackney Diamonds.
The “Gimme Shelter” artists teased the track “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” just days earlier in a clip shared via X (previously known as Twitter) and Instagram. The collaborative song features the “Born This Way” singer, 37, belting out high notes throughout the chorus.
This isn’t the first time that Gaga has collaborated with one of the most impactful voices in music. Previously, she recorded two albums with the late Tony Bennett — Cheek to Cheek and Love for Sale. The jazz artist died this past summer at 96 years old, and the A Star Is Born actress paid tribute to her late friend in a moving Instagram note.

“I will miss my friend forever,” Gaga wrote in July. “I will miss singing with him, recording with him, talking with him, being on stage together. With Tony, I got to live my life in a time warp. Tony [and] I had this magical power. We transported ourselves to another era, modernized the music together [and] gave it all new life as a singing duo.”
While noting that she had a “very long and powerful ‘goodbye” with him before his death, Gaga explained that she had been “grieving the loss of Tony for a long time.” The legendary singer died after a years-long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
“Though there were [five] decades between us, he was my friend,” she continued. “My real true friend. Our age difference didn’t matter — in fact, it gave us each something neither of us had with most people. We were from two different stages in life entirely — inspired [sic]. Losing Tony to Alzheimer’s has been painful, but it was also really beautiful. An era of memory loss is such a sacred time in a person’s life. There’s such a feeling of vulnerability and a desire to preserve dignity.”
Despite the heartbreaking loss, Gaga has continued to raise the bar in both her music and acting careers. She will be starring in the upcoming 2024 Joker sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux.
As for The Rolling Stones, the band has collaborated with several other big names in the music industry this year, including Paul McCartney for the song “Bite My Head Off” and Elton John for the tracks “Get Close” and “Live By the Sword.” The rockers’ most popular single from the album right now, though, is the first song they released: “Angry.”
The hard rock single and its accompanying music video were released on September 6, and the long-time rockstars included Gen Z icon and Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney in their video. The full clip shows the 26-year-old Emmy Award nominee jamming to the song while riding in the back of a car on Hollywood Boulevard as huge billboards of the band’s earlier years play out.
