Yasiel Puig (born Yasiel Puig Valdés Dec 7, 1990 in Cienfuegos, Cuba) is a Cuban professional baseball player in America. He began playing in the MLB for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2013 and was on the All-Star team in 2014. He is a right fielder who got his start playing on the Cuban National Baseball team. After he defected from Cuba in 2012, he signed a $42 Million dollar contract to play for the Dodgers organization. After a breakout rookie year, Yasiel has battled injuries and has dipped in performance.
