Usain Bolt (born Usain St. Leo Bold on August 21, 1986 in Sherwood Content, Trelawny, Jamaica) is a Jamaican sprinter. Usain grew up with his family a rural part of Jamaica, playing cricket and soccer in the street with his brother. By the time he was twelve, Usain’s skills as a sprinter were evident, as he was his school’s fastest runner of the 100-meter distance. Usain ran track and field in high school, developing his speed. He won many amateur competitions in his early career. In 2004, Usain turned pro, becoming the first junior sprinter to run 200 meters in under twenty seconds. He competed in the 2004 Athens Olympics but was eliminated due to a leg injury. Usain would find gold at the 2008 Olympics, winning the 100, 200 and 4×100 meter relay. At the 2012 Olympics in London, Usain repeated his performance, successfully defending his gold medals in all three events. In 2008, Usain broke the world record for the 100 meter run. He would set the records for the 200 meter sprint in 2009 and the 4 x 100 meters relay in 2012. As of 2015, he has six Olympic gold medals and 9 World Championship gold medals. In 2015, Usain won the gold in the 100-meter dash at the World Championships. At the Rio 2016 games, Usain pulled off the “triple triple” — winning gold in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m relay events for the third consecutive games, finishing his Olympics career with 100% win record in the finals.

Usain has a love for dancing and is often considered laid-back and relaxed. He is Catholic. In other sports, Usain supports the Manchester United soccer team. As a youth, he supported the Pakistani cricket team and has recently supported Australia and its players Matthew Hayden and Shane Warne. The Melbourne Stars considered offering him a spot to play in the Big Bash League. At Rio 2016, Usain suffered a sex scandal when pics showing him and Jady Duarte in bed together leaked to the internet. Usain’s girlfriend, Kasi Bennett, was back in Jamaica.
