Tomi Lahren (born in Rapid City, South Dakota on August 11, 1992) is a news anchor currently hosting the One America News Network’s (OAN) show, The Blaze. Prior to getting into broadcast journalism, Tomi interned for Republican congresswoman, Kristi Noem. She served as the first intern for the Congresswoman’s Noem’s Rapid City office. Following her political experience in Congress, Tomi then applied to OAN in hopes of landing a political commentary internship. Following her interview with the company, the network offered her the opportunity to host her own show. She began hosting her own segment, On Point with Tom Lahren in August 2014. In July 2015, her video addressing the Chattanooga shootings went viral and garnered international press. In August 2015, Tomi announced that she had completed her last show with OAN. Shortly after, the news anchor packed up and moved to Texas, where she began hosting a new show, The Blaze. The first episode of the show aired in Nov. 2015. Over the course of her two-year professional career, Tomi has made controversial statement’s concerning racism, police brutality, and liberal viewpoints.
Best Known For:
Tomi Lahren is best known for her viral video concerning the Chattanooga terrorist attacks that killed for United States Marines. Following the video, she gained attention again for her critical rants about Beyonce’s Super Bowl 50 halftime performance, and Jesse Williams’ speech at the 2016 BET Awardsm and the Black Lives Matter Movement.
Personal Life:
Tomi Lahren is a noted Republican conservative. She has often expressed her opinions on gun control laws, women’s rights, and national security policies. Tomi also comes from a long line of U.S. veterans. Her grandfather was a World War II paratrooper, and her uncle was a Vietnam Purple Heart recipient. Her cousins are also Marine Corp officers.
