Tom Hanks (born Thomas Jeffrey Hanks in Concord, CA on July 9, 1956) is an American film actor, director, producer and writer. He’s a two-time Academy Award winner and a two-time Golden Globe winner.

Best Known For:
Tom Hanks is best known for being a beloved film actor, playing an ordinary man most of the time in a larger-than-life experience. His most famous movie is arguably Forrest Gump. Other well-known roles are Big, A League of Their Own, Sleepless in Seattle, Apollo 13, Saving Private Ryan, You’ve Got Mail, The Green Mile, Toy Story, Cast Away, Road to Perdition, Catch Me If You Can, The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Captain Phillips. 

Personal Life:
Tom Hanks has been married twice. He first married Samantha Lewes in 1978, and had two children with her: Colin and Elizabeth. Then, he married Rita Wilson in 1988. Together, they had sons Truman and Chester. Tom’s son Colin has two children. Tom also has Type 2 diabetes.
