Bio:
Spencer Stone (born 1992 in Sacramento, California) is an American serving in the United States Air Force. Spencer grew up in Carmicheal, a suburb of Sacramento. He attended Del Campo High School where he played football, lacrosse and other contact sports. After high school, Spencer enlisted in the Air Force. By 2015, he reached the rank of Airman First Class. Spencer and his childhood friends, Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler, were spending a summer on a European sightseeing tour when they boarded a Paris-bound train in Aug. 2015. While on the train, Moroccan national Ayoub El Khazzani, opened fired and injured an American, Mark Moogalian. Spencer, Alek and Adam tackled Ayoub, preventing the terrorist from carrying out his deadly mission. During the scuffle, Ayoub stabbed Spencer in the neck with a pair of boxcutters. He needed 20 staples and eight stitches to fix the wound. Spencer and his friends were awarded France’s highest distinction, the Legion of Honor. In 2016, Spencer was invited to be one of Michelle Obama‘s guests for President Barack Obama‘s final State of the Union address.

Personal Life:
Spencer is open about his spirituality and active in martial arts. In 2015, Spencer was stabbed in downtown Sacramento during a physical confrontation. Spencer was reportedly protecting a female friend from the knife-wielding attacker. Though he suffered multiple stab wounds to the torso, he was in stable condition after he was rushed to the hospital.
