Shawty Lo (born Carlos Walker on March 31, 1976 in Atlanta, Georgia) was an American rapper. He formed the hip-hop group D4L ,which stands for “Down For Life” in 2003. The group is best known for their hit 2006 song “Laffy Taffy,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group only released one album, and Shawty embarked on a solo career in 2007 with the debut single “Dey Know.” He released his first record in 2008 and another in 2016. In 2003, Shawty also founded D4L Records, which he signed to G-Unit South for $10 million in 2011. He also struck a deal with Grown Money Entertainment in Jan. 2015. Shawty was supposed to have a reality show about his personal life called All My Babies’ Mamas, but Oxygen pulled it from the lineup before it aired in 2013.

Personal Life:
Shawty had 11 children, nine daughters and two sons, from ten different women. The first was born when he was just 17 years old. He announced he had diabetes in 2011 and died in a tragic car accident on Sept. 21, 2016.
