Rory Feek

Bio:
Rory Feek (born Rory Lee Feek on April 25, 1966 in Atchison, Kansas) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Rory began playing guitar at age 15. After serving two tours of duty with the United States Marine Corp., he moved to Dallas, Texas, to play in nightclubs. Nashville was calling, and Rory relocated to music city in 1995. He signed to a publishing contract and began writing music for Clay Walker, Randy Travis, Kenny Chesney. In 2004, Rory had his first Number One hit as a songwriter with Blake Shelton’s “Some Beach.” In addition to his songwriting, Rory performs alongside his wife, Joey Feek, as a part of the Joey+Rory duet. The two appeared on the first season of CMT’s Can You Duet, ultimately placing third. Their first single, “Cheater, Cheater,” peaked at No. 30 on the Top 40 Billboard country charts. Their debut album, The Life of a Song, reached No. 10, and they continued to find music success. The two have also released a gospel album and a Christmas album. Rory famously chronicled his wife’s battle with cervical cancer on his blog, until she tragically passed away on Mar. 4, 2015.

Personal Life:
Rory married Joey in 2002. They welcomed their first child together, Indiana Boone Feek, in Feb. 2014. He has two daughters — Hopie Feek and Heidi Feek — from a previous marriage. Shortly after Indiana’s birth, Joey was diagnosed with an aggressive case of cervical cancer. In 2015, Joey announced that the disease had returned and had spread to her colon. In Oct. 2014, Rory revealed in a blog post that Joey’s cancer was terminal and they were stopping all treatment, and she finally passed away after a long battle on Mar. 4, 2016
