Rex Tillerson (born March 23, 1952 in Wichita Falls, Texas) is an American businessman and the CEO of Exxon Mobil, the fifth largest company in terms of market capitalization. President Donald Trump nominated him to be the next secretary of state despite no government foreign affairs experience. On Feb. 1, 2017, the U.S. Senate confirmed his nomination by a vote of 56-43.
