Prince Fielder

Bio:
Prince Fielder (born Prince Semien Fielder on May 9, 1984 in Ontario, Canada) is an American professional baseball player. His major league career began after he was drafted in the first round of the 2002 MLB draft to the Milwaukee Brewers. After signing with the Brewers, he began his career in the minors with the Ogden Raptors. He was then promoted to the Class A Midwest League that first season. In 2005, Prince was first called up to play for the Majors. He became the designated hitter for the Brewers and was used as a pinch-hitter. In 2006, he became the team’s starting first baseman and broke a number of records. Prince was a free agent in 2012, after playing with the Brewers for six years. He agreed to a nine-year contract with the Detroit Tigers to play first base and be the designated hitter for the team. He is currently a first baseman and designated hitter for the Texas Rangers. He was traded to the Rangers in 2013. Prince underwent season-ending neck surgery in June 2014 and has since struggled with the injury, even though he has continued to play baseball. In April 2016, it was revealed that Prince was diagnosed with C4-C5 herniations in his neck. It is speculated that he will soon announce his retirement from baseball.

Personal Life:
Prince is the son of former MLB player, Cecil Fielder. He hit his first home-run at 12 years old in Tiger Stadium while attending his father’s Detroit Tiger’s batting practice. Prince married his wife, Chanel, in 2005. They have two children, Jadyn and Haven. Prince filed for divorce in May 2013, but the couple reconciled by March 2014.
