O.J. Simpson (born Orenthal James Simpson on July 9, 1947 in San Francisco, California) is an American retired professional football player, actor and broadcaster. Born and raised in San Francisco, O.J. discovered a natural athletic ability while at Galileo High School, playing for the school football team. After enrolling at the City College of San Francisco, he transferred to University of Southern California. While playing for the USC Trojans, he won the Heisman Trophy in 1968. He joined the Buffalo Bills in 1969, signing what was then the largest contract in professional sports history. While with the Bills, he was selected to the Pro Bowl 5 times, and earned the NFL MVP in 1973. He finished his career with the San Francisco 49ers, before retiring in 1979. From there, he began an acting career, and got into football broadcasting. In 1995 he was acquitted in the murder of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. In 2007 he was arrested in Las Vegas and charged with armed robbery and kidnapping. He was found guilty and sentenced to 33 years in prison with a minimum of nine years without parole. After serving those nine years, O.J. was granted his freedom. He was released from jail in the early hours of Oct. 1, 2017.

Personal Life:
O.J. Simpson married Marguerite L. Whitley in 1967. Together they had three children: Arnelle, Jason and Aaren. In 1979 they divorced after their child Aaren drowned in their swimming pool. O.J. later married Nicole Simpson in 1985. Together they had two children: Sydney and Justin. In 1989 they separated and divorced in 1992.
