Naomie Harris

Bio:

Naomie Harris (born Naomie Melanie Harris on September 6, 1976 in London, United Kingdom) is a British actress. While she was born in England, her father is from Jamaica and her mother is from Trinidad. An only child, Naomie was raised by her mother, a screenwriter, who introduced Naomie to the world of showbusiness. After studying social and political sciences at Cambridge University in the UK, she decided to pursue a career in acting by training at England’s Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Her breakthrough role came in 2002 with Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later, in which she played Selena. Four years later in 2006, Naomie became familiar to American audiences when she had a central role in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest as sorceress Tia Dalma. Naomie was cast as Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond series for 2012’s Skyfall, becoming the first black actress to play the character.

Best Known For:

Naomie is best known for her role as Bond girl Eve Moneypenny, starting with 2012’s Skyfall. She will reprise the role in 2015’s Spectre. Before her Bond days, she can be recognized as voodoo witch Tia Dalma in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

Personal Life:

Although her love life is mostly kept out of the spotlight, she made her relationship with boyfriend Peter Legler public in December 2013 after reportedly dating for more than a year. The two were caught getting cozy at a restaurant in London in May 2014 but have seemingly not been spotted together since.
