Meredith Grey (introduced in October 2011) is a Scottish fold cat, currently owned by Taylor Swift. Taylor introduced Meredith on Halloween 2011, and is the older of Taylor’s two cats; the other being Olivia Benson. Meredith once appeared on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres show. She was Taylor’s co-star in the 2012 video about the Academy of Country Music awards and fan voting. A naturally born fashionista, Meredith showed her disdain for Taylor Swift’s 2014 Met Ball dress choice, attacking the custom satin Oscar de la Renta gown. Despite this advice, Taylor wore the outfit. Meredith is normally known to be non-aggressive and prefer to hang out. Like Olivia, Meredith is a good traveling companion and doesn’t enjoy being in a cat carrier.

Meredith is a big fan of the Olympics. She does not share Taylor’s enthusiasm for the movie, Titanic. Whereas Olivia Benson is predominantly white, Meredith is striped with deep patches of grey. She is named after Ellen Pompeo’s character on Taylor’s favorite show, Grey’s Anatomy. The real Meredith Grey posed with the real Olivia Benson met, when Ellen posed with Law & Order: SVU’s Mariska Hagitay at the 2015 Super Bowl.
