Bio:
Matt Ryan (born in Exton, Pennsylvania on May 17th, 1985) is an American football quarterback. Although he excelled in high school football, baseball, and basketball, Ryan decided to play football at Boston College. He started at QB from 2005 through 2007, going on to set the third highest school record for passing (200 or more yards, 15 times) and in pass completions. During his college career, Matt led the BC Eagles to three bowl wins and a 25-7 overall record. The Atlanta Falcons drafted him with the third overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. He was paid $72 million, making him the 4th highest paid quarterback in the league. Between the 2008 and 2016 seasons, Matt has set a number of franchise records. He is the only Falcons quarterback to ever lead the team to an 8-0 start. With 13 wins in both 2010 and 2012, he has the most regular season wins of any Falcons starting quarterback ever. In 2016, he scored 38 passing touchdowns – the most in a single Falcons season ever. That same year he also passed the most yards in a single season, 4,944, and had the least amount of interceptions with seven out of 16 starts. Out of a record 5,064 pass attempts, he has completed (also a record) 3,288. He also holds records for the most career passing touchdowns, 240, and career passing yards, 37,701. On Jan. 22, 2017, with a win over the Green Bay Packers, the 31-year-old led the Falcons to an NFC Championship and his first trip to the Super Bowl.
