Mark Rylance (born David Mark Rylance Waters on January 18, 1960 in Ashford, Kent, England) is an English actor, theatre writer and playwright. He began his career at the Chrysalis Theatre School in London and began his first professional job at the Glasgow Citizen’s Theatre. Mark won the 1994 and 2010 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor for Much Ado About Nothing and Jerusalem, and two Tony Awards in 2008 and 2014 for Best Actor in a Play for his performance in Boeing Boeing and Twelfth Night. In 2016, he received his first Oscar nomination for his role as Rudolf Abel in Bridge of Spies.

Personal Life:
Mark started dating director, composer and playwright Claire van Kampen in 1987 while working on a production of The Wandering Jew at the National Theatre, and they married in Oxfordshire in 1989. Through this marriage, he became a stepfather to her two daughters from a previous marriage, actress Juliet Rylance and filmmaker Nataasha van Kampen.
