Kelsea Ballerini (born Kelsea Nicole Ballerini in Mascot, Tennessee on September 12, 1993) is an American country pop singer and songwriter signed to Black River Entertainment. At age 12 she wrote her first song — it was for her mother. Three years later she moved to Nashville, Tennessee. When she was 19 years old she signed a deal with Black River Entertainment, which led to her releasing her debut single in late 2014, “Love Me Like You Mean It.” That same year she was named one of CMT’s Next Women of Country. Her first time performing on the Grand Ole Opry stage was on February 14, 2015. For the chart dated July 4, 2015, “Love Me Like You Mean It” reached number one on the Billboard Country Airplay, making Kelsea the first solo female country artist to score a number one hit with her debut single since Carrie Underwood‘s “Jesus, Take the Wheel” in 2006. Kelsea also became only the fifth solo female country artist to score back-to-back number one hits with her first two singles when “Dibs” reached the top of the Country Airplay chart dated March 5, 2016. In 2016 it was announced that Kelsea would be performing during the opening night of CMA Fest.

Personal Life:
Kelsea Ballerini was born in Mascot, Tennessee but grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her father is a country radio programmer and is part Italian. Her mother has worked in marketing for Thomas Nelson Bible publishing and a sponsorship company. Kelsea began taking dance lessons at age three, but stopped 10 years later after she grew a significant amount. She attended Lipscomb University for two years until dropping out to pursue a musical career. Kelsea got engaged to Morgan Evans on Christmas Day 2016, just nine and a half months after they first met. On Dec. 2, 2017, she and Morgan were married in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico at a seaside ceremony.
