Katie Couric (born Katherine Anne “Katie” Couric on January 7, 1957) is an American journalist and TV host. Katie serves a special correspondent for ABC News, but her notoriety stems from her stint as a co-anchor on rival network NBC’s Today show. After a 15 year tenure on NBC, Katie segued onto CBS Evening News, earning $15 million a year and making her the highest-paid journalist in the world in 2006. She was also the only solo female evening news anchor, until December 2009, when Diane Sawyer moved to ABC World News. At the end of her contract in 2011, Katie ended her tenure at CBS Evening News, and prepared to begin her career as a TV daytime talk show host. On September 10, 2012, Katie premiered in syndication. The show ended after two seasons in 2014.

Personal Life:
Katie was married to Jay Monahan from 1989, until 1998, when Jay died of colon cancer. Katie and Jay have two daughters together: Elinor Tully “Ellie” Monahan (born July 23, 1991) and Caroline “Carrie” Couric Monahan (born January 5, 1996). Since Jay’s death, Katie has only been linked to two men (publicly): television sitcom producer, Tom Werner, and financial executive, Brooks Perlin, who is 17 years her junior.
