Karl Cook (born December 25, 1990 in Woodside, California) is an American professional jockey. Karl began riding at a young age, getting on his first horse around age 8. For 12 years, he trained with Graeme Thomas and Lu Thomas in Woodside, California, becoming a professional horse rider. In 2009, Karl competed in the Gran Prix, the highest level of show jumping. However, he struggled in 2012 and nearly walked away from the sport. Instead, he refocused his efforts, fired his trainers and rebuilt his entire training program. In 2014, he won four Grand Prix events on his horses Jonkheer Z and Basimodo. His success continued in 2015, where he won $25,000 at the SmartPak Grand Prix. He came in second-place during the Card Flex Grand Prix event.

Personal Life:
Karl revealed he was dating The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco in March 2016, following her divorce from Ryan Sweeting in the fall of 2015. Kaley, like Karl, is an active horse rider. Karl is the son of Signe Ostby, a business entrepreneur who launches her software startup in 1982 and launched a marketing strategy consulting practice. She is also a horse rider and owner of several of the horses Karl uses in competitions. His father, Scott Cook, is worth round $2 billion after founding the tax software firm Intuit in 1983. Outside of horse riding, Karl enjoys photography and woodworking. He and Kaley became engaged in Nov. 2017.
