Bio:
Kam Chancellor (born Kameron Darnel Chancellor on April 3, 1988 in Norfolk, Virginia) is an American professional football player. Kam grew up poor, as his mother worked 2-3 jobs to support him and his five siblings. Despite this poverty, his mother worked hard to keep her kids off the streets and away from violence. Kam discovered a passion for sports, as he played football and basketball in Matthew Fontaine Maury High School. As a quarterback, Kam threw for more than 2,000 yards during his Senior year in 2005. Rivals.com ranked him as the 27th pro-style quarterback prospect, which ultimately led to him getting a scholarship to Virginia Tech. During his time in VT, he transitioned from quarterback to cornerback to free safety. In 2010, the Seattle Seahawks picked him in the 2010 NFL draft. After getting some on-field experience in his rookie year, he was named the team’s starting strong safety in 2011. In 2014, he and the Seahawks defeated the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII, though they would lose the next year to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX. In Nov. 2016, Kam broke up a pass between Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski to secure a modicum of revenge.
