Antonin Scalia (born Antonin Gregory Scalia on March 11, 1936 in Trenton, NJ) is an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Justice Scalia attended public elementary school, Catholic high school, and later graduated from Georgetown University. He received his Bachelor of Laws degree from Harvard. The first 6 years of his career were spent as a lawyer in Cleveland, Ohio, and then he moved on to being a professor at the University of Virginia. Justice Scalia was fortunate to work in two presidential administrations in the early 1970’s, leading to his role as an Assistant Attorney General. In 1982 Justice Scalia was appointed a judge, and just four years later President Ronald Reagan appointed him an associate justice seat.
Best Known For:
Justice Scalia is best known for being the first Italian-American justice on the Supreme Court. He is also known for spewing anti-gay marriage statements after it was ruled legal by the Supreme Court on June 26, 2015.
Personal Life:
Justice Scalia married his wife, Maureen Scalia, in 1960. They have a grand total of 9 children together.
