Julio Jones (born Quintorris Lopez “Julio” Jones on February 3, 1989 in Foley, Alabama) is am American professional football player. Julio played wide receiver and defensive end for the Foely High School football team, catching the eyes of many with an explosive start to his sports career. As a Junior, he caught 75 passes for 1,306 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also played basketball and was a standout track athlete, going on to be the state champion in the long jump and triple jump in both 2006 and 2007. He was named the 2006-07 Gatorade T&F Athlete of the Year in Alabama. It was no surprise that Rival.com rated him a five-star recruit, and the No. 1 ranked wide receiver recruit in the nation. In 2008, Julio announced that he would commit to playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide. While with the Tide, he would help Alabama achieve an 14-0 undefeated season in 2009, which included a 2010 BCS National Championship title. He decided to skip his senior year, declaring himself eligible for the 2011 NFL Draft. The Atlanta Falcons picked him sixth overall. By 2016, he was a four-time Pro Bowl player, and had set the record in 2015 for the NFL receiving yards leader.
