Judd Hirsch (born Judd Seymore Hirsch in The Bronx, New York on March 15, 1935) is an American actor. Judd has been distinguished in the film, television, and theatre industries for several decades. He made his debut in television during the 1970s, gaining notoriety for his lead role as Alex Rieger in the popular sitcom series, Taxi, which stayed on air from 1978 to 1983. He won an Emmy Award for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in 1983. He also acted in hit sitcom, Dear John, winning him a Golden Globe in 1989. Other television series include Numb3rs, Without a Trace, and Law & Order: SVU. He’s also starred in a number of feature films, including Ordinary People, Running on Empty, and the hit holiday film, Independence Day.

Judd Hirsch is best known for playing Alex Rieger in the comedy series, Taxi from 1978 to 1983. He is also known for his roles as John Lacey in the NBC series, Dear John, Alan Eppes on CBS’s Numb3rs, and as Julius Levinson in Independence Day and Independence Day: Resurgence.
Personal Life:
Judd Hirsch was married to his first wife, Elisa Sadaune from 1956 to 1967. Together, they has one child. Judd Hirsch married his second wife, Bonni Sue Calkin in 1992. The couple had two kids together before divorcing in 2005.
