Bio:
Josh Groban (born Joshua Winslow Groban on February 27, 1981 in Los Angeles, California) is an American singer, songwriter, actor and record producer. Josh grew up in California, and began sang in public when he was in seventh grade, at a time when he was focused more on acting. The encouragement made him switch his focus, as he attended the Interlochen Center for the Arts Camp in Michigan to major in musical theater. He enrolled Carnegie Mellon University, intending to study drama, but he left after four months when he was offered a recording contract. While working with producer and arranger David Foster, Josh performed as a rehearsal singer at high profile events. After working as a stand-in for Andrea Bocelli for his duet with Celine Dion, Josh was asked to appear on Rosie O’Donnell’s talk show, leading to an appearance on Ally McBeal. His appearance was so popular, he was brought back the next season. His self-titled debut album was released in 2001, and it went from gold to double-platinum. Over the next fifteen years, he would release six albums, selling over 25 million records worldwide. He would go on to make appearances on numerous talk shows, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Larry King Live and The Oprah Winfrey Show six times. He also appeared in films like Muppets Most Wanted, Coffee Town and in the comedy, Crazy, Stupid, Love.
