Joseph Fiennes (born Joseph Albrec Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes on May 27, 1970 in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England) is an English film and stage actor. Joseph grew up in Salisbury, the youngest of six siblings. He attended the Swan School for Boys before enrolling in the Bishop Wordsworth’s School. Following a passion for performing, he trained for three years at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He graduated in 1993. His first professional appearance was in The Woman In Black in the West End. He followed it up with a role in A Month in the Country, opposite Helen Mirren. In 1996, Joseph made his television debut in The Vacillations of Poppy Carew. That year, Joseph also appeared in his first feature film, Stealing Beauty, co-starring Liv Tyler. That launched a career that had him appear in films like Elizabeth and Shakespeare In Love. In 2009, Joseph starred in the ABC series FlashForward and had a minor role on the second season of American Horror Story. In 2016, Joseph was cast to play the late Michael Jackson in a TV special about Michael’s trip with Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando, Elizabeth, Michael & Marlon.

Joseph’s older brother is actor Ralph Fiennes. Joseph is the eighth cousin to the Prince of Wales. Joseph married Maria Dolores Dieguez, a Swiss Model, in August 2009. They have two daughters together. Joseph is involved the Thomas Coram Foundation for Children, designing a card to be auctioned for the charity.
