John F. Kennedy (born John Fitzgerald Kennedy in Brookline, Massachusetts on January 20, 1961) was the 35th president of the United States. He served from January 1961 until November 1963, when he was assassinated in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald. During his reign, he initiated Project Apollo, and played a major part in the African-American Civil Rights Movement, the building of the Berlin Wall, the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Personal Life:
John F. Kennedy married Jackie Bouvier on September 12, 1953. They had three children, JFK Jr. and Caroline Bouvier Kennedy — however, Jackie had a miscarriage in ’55 and a stillbirth in ’56. They were the first First Couple to have their lives in the media, and to be involved in the pop culture life. In 1962, Marilyn Monroe sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to JFK before his 45th birthday. In 1968, JFK’s brother Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated, causing Jackie to fear for her own life and her children.
