Bio:
Janay Rice (Janay Palmer, 26), is the wife to former pro football star, Ray Rice. She met her husband, who is from New Rochelle, when they were in high school and the two kept in touch while they went off to college. In August, 2010, Janay was arrested for, and pled guilty to, shoplifting. The charge was for stealing a dress valued at less than $1,000. On February 15, 2014, Janay and and Ray were arrested and charged with assault after a physical altercation at Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. A video was of Ray dragging her body out of an elevator after apparently knocking her out. After the incident the couple stayed together and got married on March 28, 2014. Janay continued to stand by Ray’s side during countless press conferences.
Best Known For:
Janay is best-known for being attacked by her then fiancé in the elevator of their hotel. He punched her and knocked her out and it was all caught on camera.
Personal Life:
Her personal life is marked by her marriage to Ray Rice, the former star running back for the Baltimore Ravens. In February 2012, she and Ray had a daughter, Rayven.
