Isabelle Huppert (born Isabelle Anne Madeleine Huppert in Paris, France on March 16, 1953) trained at the Versailles Conservatory and made her film debut at the age of 16. She worked throughout the 1960s and 70s and attended the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art of Paris. She was named the Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival in 1978 for her role in Violette Nozière. Isabelle appeared in several films that received acclaim in America including Amour and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. She made her biggest splash yet for her portrayal of a sexual assault survivor who seeks revenge in Elle.
