Biography:
Hailie Scott Mathers (born Hailie Jade Mathers on December 25, 1995) is the daughter of rapper Marshall Mathers (aka Eminem) and his ex-wife Kim Scott. The brunette beauty, who has amassed more than two million followers on Instagram, grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents met while they were in high school, and when her mother ran away from home with her twin sister, they moved in with Eminem’s family. The pair began dating and Hailie was later born on Christmas Day in 1995. Marshall and Kim said “I do” four years later, but filed for divorce in 2001. The couple went on to re-marry in 2006, but the relationship was short-lived as they filed for divorce yet again, less than 12 months after tying the knot. Hailie grew up with her cousin Alaina Marie, and half-sister Whitney (from one of her mom’s previous relationship), and both were adopted by her father, Eminem. Kim was arrested and charged with cocaine possession in 2001, and faced more legal woes two years later when she was charged with felony possession of cocaine, driving with a suspended license and unsafe driving near a stopped emergency vehicle. It led to a tumultuous childhood for Hailie, who was embroiled in a custody battle between her parents before her soon-to-be famous father made a name for himself in the music industry.
She has been the subject of many of her father’s songs, and he has publicly noted that she is his biggest inspiration. He dropped “Hailie’s Song” in 2002 which addressed his pure joy after receiving custody of his then preteen daughter. He later released “Mockingbird” in which he expressed regret over not being there for his then-wife and their daughter, and tries to assure Hailie throughout the song that both of her parents love her despite the tumultuous circumstances that surrounded her childhood. She served as the inspiration for dozens of other songs and has been name-checked in multiple tracks including 2005’s “When I’m Gone”, and “Castle” and “Arose” which were both released in 2017. That year, Eminem also released a song called “Bad Husband” in which he said sorry to ex-wife Kim for any pain he caused her.
Hailie attended the Chippewa Valley High School in Michigan, where she was on the volleyball team and was a member of the National Honor Society. After graduating Summa Cum Laude, and being crowned Homecoming Queen in 2013, she enrolled at the Michigan State University, where she pursued her Bachelor’s degree. She has since turned much of her focus to being a fashion influencer, posting photos to her Instagram page almost every day. “attempting to curate a feed that accurately represents my life and is somehow still aesthetically pleasing,” her bio reads, above a stunning feed which features photos of Hailie rocking different outfits in beautiful locations around the world.
