Grace Jones (born Beverly Grace Jones on May 19, 1948 in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica) is a Jamaican singer, songwriter, model and actress. Grace spent her early years being raised by her grandparents in Jamaica. At age 13, she moved, with her siblings, to Syracuse, New York. Grace signed with the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency and moved to Paris, where her androgynous, bold appearance was a big hit. She modeled for Yves St. Laurent, Claude Montana and Kenzo Takada. She appeared on the covers of Elle, Vogue and Stern. In 1974, Grace began her music career. She released her first album, Portfolio, in 1977, and it contained her first club hit, “I Need A Man.” Her last of her disco albums came in 1979. In the ‘80s, Grace found international success with albums Warm Leatherette and Nightclubbing. She also began her acting career, appearing alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan The Destroyer and in the James Bond film, A View to a Kill. Though Grace continues to act, her main focus is music. Grace contributed a song, “Original Beast,” to the soundtrack of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.

Personal Life:
Grace had a son, Paulo, with long-time collaborator, Jean-Paul Goude. She has been reportedly married twice: first to Chris Stanley in 1989 and to Atila Altaunbay in 1996. She has disputed her married to Chris in her memoirs. She dated Dolph Lundgren in the 1980’s. Her brother, Bishop Noel Jones, is a star of the 2013 reality television show, Preachers of L.A.
