Erykah Badu (born Erykah Abi Wright on February 26, 1971 in Dallas, Texas) is an American singer. She is best known for being the “Queen of Neo Soul.” Her first two albums, Baduizm and Mama’s Gun, spawned singles like “On & On,” “Next Lifetime,” “Bag Lady” and “Didn’t Cha Know?” She won a Grammy in 2000 for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. She hosted the 2015 Soul Train Awards and threw major shade at Iggy Azalea.

Erykah dated Andre 3000 from 1995 to 1999. They have one child together — Seven Sirius Benjamin. She dated Soulquarian Common from 2000 to 2002. Erykah gave birth to daughter Puma Sabti Curry in 2004. Puma’s father is rapper The D.O.C. She gave birth to daughter Mars Merkaba Thedford in 2009, her first child with rapper Jay Electronica.
