Draymond Green (born Draymond Jamal Green on March 4, 1990 in Saginaw, Michigan) is an American professional basketball player. Draymond grew up in Saginaw, attending Saginaw High School. After developing his court skills with the school, Draymond enrolled in Michigan State. While a sophomore, Draymond was the first Michigan State player in history to be named Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year. As a senior, Draymond, the Basketball team’s captain, led the squad to the Big Ten championship. The Golden State Warriors drafted Draymond in the 2012 NBA draft. He signed a three-year deal. Though starting out small, Draymond increased his role with the team, becoming one of their most valued player. After shedding 20 pounds before the 2013-14 season, Draymond improved as a player. However, he was ejected from a December 2013 game for committing a flagrant foul on LA Clippers Blake Griffin. He was fined $15,000 for failing to leave the court in a timely manner. In the 2014-15 season, Draymond had a break out year, averaging over 13 points per game. During Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Draymond scored a triple-double, helping the Warriors win their first championship in 40 years.

Draymond has two brothers and three sisters. Draymond’s brother, Torrian Harris, played basketball for Nebraska-Omaha from 2009-2011. Draymond is known for being modest, living in an Emeryville apartment instead of an expensive home in San Francisco, like most of his teammates.
