Daniel Suarez

Bio:
Daniel Suarez (born Daniel Alejandro Suarez Garza on January 7, 1992 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico) is a Mexican professional stock car racing driver. Daniels’ racing career began in 2002, when he began racing karts. He won the class championship in 2007, before moving to the NASCAR Mexico Stock V6 Series (formerly the NASCAR Mexico T4 Series. ) He was the youngest drive to win a race in the series. He moved to the NASCAR Mexico Series in 2010, winning Rookie Of The Year. He raced in the K&N Pro Series East and the Mexico Series, racking up wins until, in 2014, he was selected by Joe Gibbs Racing to make his debut in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He drove the No. 20 Toyota, finishing 19th. In 2015, Daniel got a full-time XFINITY series ride, racing the No. 18 Toyota. He won Rookie of The Year, and his success in the series continued in 2016. He became the first Mexican-born racer to win a race in a NASCAR national touring series by taking the checkered flag in Michigan. He won the 2016 XFINITY Championship, becoming the first foreign-born drier to win a NASCAR national series title. In 2017, after Carl Edwards retired, Joe Gibbs promoted Daniel to NASCAR’s top series, the Monster Energy Cup Series.

Personal Life:
Daniel is notably a clean freak. He keeps a close relationship with his mother and two sisters, calling them daily even though they live in Mexico (while he stays in North Carolina.) Daniel reportedly had a long-distance girlfriend, but said in 2016 of the stress of such a relationship. His main hobby is restoring old cars. He and his father would work together in his shop in Mexico. While in the U.S., Daniel worked on restoring classic Volkswagen Bugs.
